New Resource Consulting’s proprietary PeopleSoft Optimization Roadmap is a strategic analysis of an enterprise system installation, including its underlying technical footprint based on current licensing agreements, as well as its utilized features and modules as compared to other industry installations and their best practice use.

The PeopleSoft Optimization Roadmap is designed to provide a snapshot of the current state of an enterprise system with recommendations (including quick wins) that allow an organization to maximize the value received from the system. These comprehensive recommendations not only provide potential system enhancements, but also cover areas as resources (level of expertise and headcount) and processes (incorporating best practices). In addition, a separate component can include the benefits and challenges of migrating PeopleSoft module(s) to Oracle Cloud. The cost to conduct the PeopleSoft Optimization Roadmap is based on the number of modules to be analyzed and the number of days NRC staff will be onsite to perform the assessment.

Areas to consider when transitioning to the Cloud include:

  • Data Quality.  One of the largest challenges in a Cloud implementation is the quality of data available in your source system. Difficult areas that should be considered are SQL updates, control data vs. transactional data, and optional or free-form data entry.
  • Retirement of Systems and Legacy Data.  Migration to Oracle Cloud solutions allows an organization to retire their outdated applications. An on premise historical data store should be created to house legacy data in a format that is easily reportable. This provides a quicker decommissioning of the legacy system.
  • Data History to Convert.  As the amount of history to convert is increased, the chance of data issues is also increased. Typically, these issues line up with Data Quality items, but recognize that new issues can be introduced with historical values no longer in use.
  • Integrations     An inventory of all integrations should be completed prior to beginning any Cloud migration project, including functional requirements, business owners, third party communication protocol, file/field layouts, frequency and schedule. Capturing this information upfront will help in the design and development of the interfaces.
  • Data Conversion.  Data Conversion programs should be created in a way where extracts can easily be re-created. NRC has custom proprietary software that converts spreadsheet based data sets into the required formats, such as File Base Loader, HCM Data Loader, Payroll Dispatch Loader, etc.
  • Reports.  Multiple interfaces can send demographic information in varying file formats with differing fields. The implementation of Oracle Cloud is a perfect opportunity to redesign reports to be from a single data source with multiple output formats to meet the same requirements.

The team of Oracle Consulting and New Resources Consulting was recently selected by Wake Forest Baptist Health to deliver Oracle ERP and HCM Cloud implementation services. The project is the first Oracle Cloud implementation conducted for a large-sized academic healthcare organization.

The project will be conducted using a comprehensive structured implementation approach: Project Design, Configuration, Validation, Transition, and Realization. In addition to providing the Project Manager, Functional Leads, Consultants, and Analysts, NRC will be responsible for all Change Management and Managed Services activities.

NRC currently provides Wake Forest Baptist Health with round-the-clock support for all of their PeopleSoft modules, including Human Capital Management, Financial and Supply Chain Management, and Campus Solutions. Services include the application of PeopleSoft patches, system security, report distribution, interfaces, business workflow changes, and change management, as well as support for business cyclical events (example: Open Enrollment, Merit Cycles, Month End, etc.). The support will continue during the Cloud transition.

New Resources Consulting was responsible for a comprehensive PeopleSoft deployment to incorporate all Sensient Technologies global entities into the PeopleSoft modules of Core Human Resources / Internal Resume and Talent Acquisition Management and Candidate Gateway.

With facilities in thirty-seven (37) countries, installation of the PeopleSoft modules provides the international divisions of Sensient Technologies with the ability to more efficiently develop internal resumes, manage employee data, acquire talent, improve reporting, and streamline business processes.

The project, conducted over a ten (10) month period, provides Sensient Technologies employees access to:

  • A global employee database to present real-time reports, compensation information, organizational charts, etc.

Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E) wished to upgrade their existing Financial and Supply Chain modules to PeopleSoft 9.2. In addition, they wanted to implement new module components (eProcurement, PO Change Order and Journal Workflow) into their enterprise application.

Utilizing NRC consultants and MGE subject matter experts, the comprehensive system upgrade and module implementation was successfully completed in a nine-month period. The upgrade to PeopleSoft 9.2 provided MG&E with new desired functionality, including the Item Loader Template and Accounts Payable and General Ledger Work Centers. Implementation of the new module components helped MG&E increase system operations by requiring less customizations to standardize business processes.
